Upper limbs
  • Hypotonia
  • Arms extended (drift or static tremor, due to hypotonia to agonist muscles)
  • Rebound (if older child – cerebellar hypotonia)
  • Finger-nose test (intention tremor and past pointing)
  • Dysdiadochokinesis (definition - impairment of rapid alternating movements)
    • Alternate tapping with palm and back of hand
    • Piano playing
    • Touch fingers of hand alternately with thumb of same hand
    • Diadochokinesia should be smooth and rapid by 8 years
