Social Mission

learnmed^®'s social mission is to improve the provision of medical and allied health services to the Aboriginal community in Australia. In our initial years, we funded a number of medical and research initiatives that boosted medical support to children and adults in the Aboriginal community. Now, we fulfil our social mission by working closely with the Australian Rotary Club's highly successful Indigenous Health Scholarship Programme, through which learnmed® sponsors medical students from the Aboriginal community, throughout their full period of study until graduation. learnmed® receives twice yearly reports on each student's progress and they must pass all exams to progress into the next year in order to get continued funding. We were delighted when our first sponsored student from the Aboriginal community graduated in medicine at the University of Melbourne in 2018.
