The child with a neck swelling
Kayleigh is a 13-year-old girl who has recently noticed a neck swelling. Please examine her.
Now you examine her lower limbs.
There are no abnormal findings.
Look for:
- Proximal muscle weakness (hyperthyroid and hypothyroidism)
- Delayed relaxation of reflexes (hypothyroidism)
- Pre-tibial myxoedema
